On the Way to the Bridge

"My friend and I were sharing the love of God with a man downtown this past Tuesday. He accepted Christ and we gave him the gospel of John pocket testament. Then he dropped down on his knees in the snow and thanked the Lord, very loudly. He then told us that he had been on his way to the bridge to jump off because he was so hopeless. After praying with him, we all shouted, "Praise the Lord"! He was set free!!" Helen

All Because I Asked...
Thursday, January 14, 2010
Before we witness, we should pray and ask God for results. And if God prompts us, ask for the order! As Don says below, it will be a wonderful experience.

I was able to share the Pocket Testament League Bridge illustration in the Gospel of John with a person at a gas station. He actually prayed to receive Christ, all because I asked him, "Would you like to pray to receive Christ?" It was a wonderful experience!

Three Great New Year's Resolutions!
Monday, January 4, 2010
1. Read at least one chapter of the Bible every day. Jesus said, "Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4. Are you getting every word? This book is alive, is a Holy seed, and when you plant it in your heart every day, God will do great things in your life. Don't miss it!!
2. Decide that you will carry pocket sized scripture with you every where you go. When you stick a Gospel of John in your pocket in the morning, say a simple prayer "God, who would you have me share this with today?". God will answer that prayer, and you will see God at work all around you! What a way to start the decade!
3. Decide that YOU are going to be sower of the Holy Word. The Bible is ALIVE!, and when you deal with supernatural things, you can expect supernatural results. If you start planting the Word of God, people's lives will be changed forever. You will be part of God's plan to bring people to Him. Just give a Gospel of John to someone, and encourage them to read it for themselves. God does all the work, and your life will really matter.
We got this story (below) posted on our website on January 1. What a way to start the New Year.
Rejoicing!

I was given the Gospel of John to read and it changed my life. During my reading I was filled with the Holy Spirit and dedicated my life to Jesus Christ my Savior. I hope to reach others by sharing these Gospels with them. I pray that non-believers will be filled with the Holy Spirit through these Gospels as I was.

Worth More Than A Diamond Necklace!

Posted 12/22/2009 from Fairfield, NJ
Every year our family ventures into Manhattan at Christmas time to enjoy the sites and atmosphere. Last Friday we went in for this year's trip equipped with 15 Gospels of John from the Pocket Testament League. We gave the pocket testaments all out through the course of our visit. The receivers varied from cab or bus drivers, to people working in stores and random people in the street.
My favorite was giving a Gospel of John to an employee at a very expensive jewelry store. After he got done showing me a diamond necklace worth $15 million I told him I had something more valuable in my pocket and then reached in and handed him the Gospel of John. He took it and thanked me.
My last Gospel of John I handed to a women waiting for the ferry boat. I was very excited to see her reading page by page in the few minutes we had before we had to leave. Please pray for all the people receiving Gospels of John this Christmas season!!"

Our prayer group (4 of us) went out to lunch yesterday at a local restaurant. After enjoying a delicious meal we all gave a generous combined tip, as directed by the Holy Spirit, inside of a special Pocket Testament League Gospel of John for Christmas with the candy canes on the cover and a big hug to our server for her efficiency in waiting on us and we wished her a very Merry Christmas. To God be the glory."

God's Stimulus Plan
Sunday, February 8, 2009
The good news is that our country is talking about how to get things moving in the right direction.
There is a bigger need than that, and that is the need for Spiritual Stimulus Plan to get our country thinking about the Creator of it all, returning our gaze to Almighty God, who owns it all! – and we have a God-guaranteed way to accomplish that.
God’s growth model has been forgotten and neglected- He uses His Word as a seed, to change lives forever.
“For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring Word of God” 1Peter 1:23
“This is the meaning of the parable (The Parable of the sower), the seed is the Word of God.” Luke 8:11
We need to renew our efforts to sow the Word of God. That is what God uses (along with the Holy Spirit) to stimulate hearts to turn toward Him. It is God’s Stimulus Plan.
We need to BECOME Sowers of the Word.
We need to RECRUIT Sowers of the Word
We need to EQUIP and PRAY FOR Sowers of the Word
Unlike the economic stimulus plans, God’s plan is guaranteed to stimulate hearts!:
So is my Word that goes out from my mouth, it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire, and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11
You are an important part of God’s Stimulus Plan. Here are four things you can do- right now!
1. Start carrying Gospels in your pockets, and ask God who to give them to.
2. Invite your friends and church to do the same thing.
3. If you can, sponsor other members, and invest in this ministry.
4. Pray that other members will be bold, fruitful, and faithful.
The time is right! Hearts are ready. People are searching. We have the only answer.
“Being poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.” 2Corinthians 6:10
Together, we can turn hurting and lost people back to God…one seed at a time.

God is about everything...including NASCAR!
Wednesday, July 16, 2008

A friend of mine stopped by today and noticed one of the pocket testaments sitting on the coffee table. He asked me if it had anything to do with nascar since it had the checkered flag on the cover. I took that as an opening for witnessing. I told him that God is about everything including NASCAR. He said that he did notice that an opening prayer before the races was given, but he figured it was just done due to tradition. I told him that God is and should always be part of everybody's daily tradition. Well this conversation went on for a couple of hours as we took turns reading from the pocket testament aloud. After we finished reading a few chapters, my friend surprised me by asking if I can help him accept God into his life. I told him yes, but then I pointed out that he actually started the process himself by asking about the pocket testament. He chuckled and agreed. After that, we both prayed together and my friend accepted Jesus as his one true Messiah. He will be joining us this sunday for church.... Thank you for giving us all this powerful tool to be used with our witnessing!
