From the Mall in Washington DC
Saturday, October 6, 2007
Today was Stand in the Gap 2007, held next to the Washington Monument. Although there were fewer people than expected (I am guessing less than 10,000), it was a mighty army of godly men. It was really moving to see hundreds of fathers bringing their sons to honor God, and to take a stand for the Lord. We were there with thousands of special Gospels, I have a stack of new member sign up cards that is over a foot high! Men took thousands of Gospels to share, and God has prompted them on what to do: One teenager is going to witness to his high school football team...another man is going to take them to wounded veterans at Marshall Reed Medical Center. One man is going to take them to prisons, and other wants to boldly share at work. Most of the men stated that they wanted to go home and to make a difference for the Lord in their communities and families! It was really hot today, but the crowd stayed active, alert, and on fire for God!
Many men gave their hearts to the Lord for the first time today, and many left that place, determined to serve our King with passion, and to be a true witness, making a difference for eternity.
Wow, what a wonderful day!! We left the Mall, tired, but rejoicing!!
